87 Samurai

87 Suzuki Samurai, VIN JS4JC51C2H417779.
If you are looking for a
great running Samurai this is it.  It has had a Weber Carb and
Header
installed and is by far the best running Samurai that I have
driven.
There is a bunch to tell about this one.  It is an 87 model.
It has
the standard stuff, 5 spd, 4wd, rear jump seat with lap belts.  It
had A/C
at some point but it is not hooked up or working.  It has a hard
top which
is easy to pull on and off.  The door hinges have been modified so
they
lift off easily and the door straps unsnap.  You can be doorless
in less
than a minute.  It is not rusty which seems to be a problem with
Samurais.  The body is solid.  It has a new starter, has had
the
shifter bushings replaced and the tires are very good.  The four
wheel
drive works great.  I live on a small farm and have driven it all
over the
hills and hollers in low and high range.  The signals, lights and
horn
work fine.  This Samurai is not a junk but there are issues.
The
hood flew up and is beat up, the paint is not great, and there are
various ding
and bruises.  There is not a radio, although I do have the plate
from
Suzuki for it.  There is a start button on the Samurai.  I
like it
personally and you just need to turn the key and press the button to
start it.
I think the previous owner added this when the starter was
installed.  The
bumper end cap is missing from the front passengers side but I have a
new one
to go on it.  There was chrome rocker trim originally and it was
pulled
off leaving two sided tape.  The Samurai reads 67k miles, I don't
know if
it is rolled once,AutoCheck only shows 33k miles in 1997, so...   If you are looking for a Samurai to play
with, restore, or just drive then this is an excellent candidate.
It just runs so good, hits the highway or trails and doesn't back down.

Here is the Samurai with the hardtop on, as it is NOW. click on any picture for an even larger version. Here it is with the top off as it was this summer. click on any picture for an even larger version. AutoCheck Report
